A Found Poem by Beverly Stock

© Dennis Cox | Dreamstime.com

Since he lately did inter his wife,

Max weeps and sighs, weary of life.

Say, isn’t for real grief he mourns? Not so;

Tears have their springs from joy, as well as woe. The poem Haunch, A Schoolmaster, Epig. by 17-century English lyric poet Robert Herrick was the basis of my found poem Widower. Herrick’s poetry is currently in the public domain.
