The Poet's Voice
Beverly Stock is an American poet, born and raised in the midwest. A former journalist and feature writer, she delights in creating poetry that finds life in the mundane, and makes the familiar new again. Possessing a well-honed, distinctive voice, Beverly's work is characterized by a delightful blend of wry candor, bright wit, and winking optimism.
Beverly's perspective is expressed through a wide breadth of styles and forms. She has published formal sonnets, is at home composing acrostic poems and villianelis, and is also happy to craft modern, impressionistic verse.
Also, she has also written limericks. Because really - who doesn't love five good lines of fun?
Prior to jumping into the world of poetry, Beverly enjoyed a successful career as a feature magazine writer, a corporate communications manager, and as the owner of a boutique creative services agency. She also worked as a freelance journalist for almost twenty years, and saw her work published in newspapers and weekly periodicals across the United States, and in international media.
Beverly has been married for more than forty years, has two grown children, and two grandchildren. She splits her time between St. Louis and New Mexico.
She is also an award winning dollhouse miniaturist, an enthusiastic conversationalist, and a lover of all things purple. Especially her glasses.
