A poem by Beverly Stock.

A paraphrase

Will always raise

A question of the

Writer’s intention.

Be they truthful

As well as useful?

Or affection

With no direction?

Is it a gesture

Of charity?

Paraphrasing for

Greater clarity?

Appease and keep

Meanings the same.

Even if, by chance,

Some verbs perturb,

Restore our

Syntax again,

We are just

Flawed poets.

Please and thank

You. Amen
