Loose Women, Loose Verse

A poem by Beverly Stock.

Loose Women, loose verse, which is worse?

If a corset that isn’t tied tight,

If a poet’s meter isn’t right,

If loose women gossip and fight?

Loose poets ruin cadence,

Mixing meter insures annoyance,

Loose women scantily dress,

Quite outrageously but with success.

Loose women, loose verse, which is worse?

I write verse in sanguinity

Honesty, truth, love: my holy trinity

Loose verse or just hypermobility?
